Stuck, found a bug, or have an idea for a room? Email support@tinkerpuzzles.com. A person reads every one.

I’m stuck on a puzzle

Tap the bulb for Hint to see the next solution step. The first three hints are free, then each new hint costs one gear. Replaying the current hint is free. Earn a gear once per puzzle for four stars without hints, lightning or extra moves.

Pause → Skip lets you come back later. With Move limit on after the opening chapter, skipping or going Home after a counted move costs one life. The game asks before you leave.

Rooms, puzzles and stars

The Tower has 68 rooms across 10 chapters. Each room contains five puzzles, for 340 in total. Each puzzle can earn up to four stars. The main puzzles have no timer.

Lives, gears and lightning

With Move limit on, starting a puzzle after the opening chapter needs a life. You can hold five; one returns every 30 minutes. Winning keeps it. Skipping or going Home after a counted move uses one. A heart on Restart means it will use one life.

Gears pay for hints, extra moves and life refills, and can also be earned through play. All three packs can be bought from the start in Settings → Supplies, or from the heart button on the Tower. Lightning bolts stay in your balance until you can use them after Two Panes. All puzzles are included without a purchase.

Turn off Settings → Move limit to play the main puzzles without lives, a move limit or stars.

Purchases and refunds

Google Play handles payments and refunds. To check a purchase or ask for a refund, follow Google Play’s refund policies; Google Play decides refund requests under those rules. If Google Play shows a purchase as pending, its supplies arrive once it is approved, the next time you open Supplies.

Purchased supplies survive Reset progress. Each pack is used up in Google Play as soon as its supplies are added, so Google Play has nothing to restore later; your remaining supplies travel with Android backup instead. If a purchase went through but the app closed before adding it, open Settings → Supplies: Tinker delivers any purchase Google Play still holds. If supplies are still missing, contact support@tinkerpuzzles.com with the pack name and app version. Do not send payment-card details.

My progress isn’t on my new phone

Progress moves through Android backup; it does not sync live between phones. Keep Settings → Back up progress on in Tinker and backup on in your old phone’s settings, then set up the new phone from that backup, or by copying from the old phone, with the same Google Account. Android restores Tinker’s copy when it installs the app. Purchased supplies come back the same way, whether or not Back up progress is on. Android backs up about once a day, so your most recent play may not be in the backup yet.

I want to start over

Settings → Reset progress. With Back up progress on, it resets the backup copy too. With it off, only this phone is reset, and turning backup back on can restore your saved progress. Purchased supplies and the life timer are kept.

Accessibility controls

Settings → Dark mode uses near-black screens, menus and controls. Settings also provides separate music, sound and vibration controls, and, for Voice Access, Move without dragging and Square names.

Can I play with TalkBack?

Yes. TalkBack reads the board and where the light goes, and every movable piece can be moved without dragging.

Something looks wrong

Email us your phone model, Android version and the puzzle’s name. A screenshot helps a lot. Tap the version number at the bottom of Settings to copy it.

Delete your data

To delete analytics records, send a request from Settings → Privacy request before you uninstall Tinker, as the privacy policy explains. Reset progress clears your progress. Uninstalling Tinker removes what it keeps on your phone; its Android backup is part of your device backup, which you manage in your Google Account. You can delete Play Games achievements and scores from your Play Games profile.
